The day the site was down and could not say so, and the day it gained a today

On the first of September every page of veilos.io answered a refusal from the platform it runs on: the shared hosting account had used up its free daily allowance of requests, spent almost entirely by a sibling site's traffic, and the refusal happened before VEILOS ever ran. So every check VEILOS keeps on itself — its health page, its deploy smoke, its scheduled witness — saw nothing, because they all ask the organism and the organism was never asked. The smoke test now has a fourth answer, refused, which it gives before it reads anything else, and the status page says plainly that this site's uptime depends on an account it shares. The rest of the release is the site itself: a Today page that changes each day (the organism's letter, what settles before midnight, what reality graded since yesterday); a search over the public record that cannot see private whispers; a gallery of ascended imprints; a mark drawn for every page from its own address and lit by the organism's live coherence; a clearer bar and fewer duplicate pages (About lives on Welcome now, Legal on Privacy); the founder console renamed so it stops sharing a word with your dashboard; a first-time studio sign-in that lands on the same welcome a local crossing gets; hands for the steward on the lessons the organism proposes; and the first honest measurement of how heavy each page is to download. This release was not deployed on the day it was finished, because the same refusal that hid the outage also made it impossible to verify a deploy; it will ship the moment the edge answers again.
