An unpaid GET /api/oracle returns 402 Payment Required with a machine-readable quote. Two ways to pay: a pre-paid fiat pack (consult by POST with an Authorization: Bearer header), or native x402 — the 402 carries an accepts block with a per-call USDC price + destination wallet; pay on-chain and retry with an X-PAYMENT header to get the reading. Non-custodial: USDC settles straight to the organism's wallet. The organism trades with other minds directly.
